About

Alexis Wolfe Mbassa is a portrait photographer. She began her business in 2001 primarily as a music and entertainment photographer, working with hip hop artists and musicians in Seattle, WA. In 2008, she published her first book, “Emerald City Hip Hop”. That same year, Alexis moved to NYC where she completed her masters in education, and worked as a public school classroom teacher for years, while continuing to photograph for musicians, actors, and organizations. Her second book, “Keep It Beautiful, the World of Shock G as told to Alexis Wolfe” will be published with Crown Publishing/Random House in August of 2025.

Upon returning to Seattle in 2023 with two small children of her own and holding years of experience in education, it was a natural progression to open up another side to her business as a family and school portrait photographer. This is that site. Her joy is capturing each individual child being who they are.
